About
I’m Mira Caie (pronounced Meera Kai). I am a visual artist based in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland.
I love to draw, paint and make anything I can with my hands. As a kid, I loved to play with creativity and re-imagine the world around me. I’d doodle and experiment with colours and materials, becoming blissfully lost watching an ever changing sky, scribble with my treasured stationary or be fascinated by the vivid colours and patterns of a saree shop. This fascination with the imagined, as well as, the natural world continues, from its raw beauty to the joyful surprise in the everyday.
Life has taken different turns, but an inescapable desire for creative play has always been a constant path.
Join me on this creative journey with an open heart, you will amaze yourself where it will lead.
My work is intuitive and often inspired by changes in seasons, a story or discovering a new destination on our beautiful planet. I am also fortunate to live close to the stunning Scottish coast and wild woodlands.
I turn this inspiration into several experimental sketches that can lead to a painting or pattern design often created in layers. I work in acrylics, watercolour, pastels, digital, textile and ink.
I create visual art in mixed media and digital illustration.
